Download as PDFLast week, TR Charlotte held its inaugural Corporate Volunteering Day, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to giving back to the community. Employees united to support Samaritan’s Purse, a well-respected humanitarian organisation, through their renowned initiative, Operation Christmas Child.
The initiative saw team members dedicate their time and energy to pack shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and other essentials. These gift-filled boxes will soon make their way to children in need across the globe, spreading joy and hope during the festive season.
“It’s amazing to see our team come together for such a meaningful cause,” said Tom Robinson, Location Manager at TR Charlotte. “Operation Christmas Child aligns perfectly with our values of community engagement and compassion. Knowing that these shoeboxes will brighten the lives of children around the world is incredibly rewarding.”
Samaritan’s Purse, a North Carolina-based organisation, has been operating Operation Christmas Child since 1993, delivering over 200 million shoeboxes to children in more than 160 countries and territories. The boxes, often the first gift recipients have ever received, serve as a tangible expression of care and love.
TR Charlotte plans to make Corporate Volunteering Days a regular occurrence, further strengthening its role as a socially responsible business. Through initiatives like these, the company is demonstrating that fostering a spirit of giving among employees can create lasting positive change.
